If you're considering an Arm lift...

Surgery will improve arm contour, shape and smoothness by means of eliminating the excess of fat and the sagging skin. The residual scar is inevitable, but it remains hidden in the arm inner side.

Braquioplasty is a safe and ambulatory surgical procedure. It is very satisfying for patients since it enhances the figure and gives back the possibility of wearing tighter sleeves or sleeveless articles of clothing.
This surgery can be performed at the same time as abdominoplasty (dermolipectomy) or breast surgery (augmentation, reduction or lift).
How do I prepare for surgery?
It is important to avoid taking any Aspirin or products containing Aspirin for 2 weeks either side of the operation since Aspirin has an adverse effect on bruising. If you are a smoker it is helpful to stop for two weeks before surgery and for a week afterwards so as not to restrict the circulation to the skin.
Where will my surgery be performed?
The surgery is usually performed at a clinic in the city of Buenos Aires where Dr. Freschi works with in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. You will usually be admitted on the day of surgery.
You will need a friend or relative to accompany you home when you leave hospital after surgery.
What type of anaesthetic will be used?
Arm lift can be performed under a local or local plus sedation or general anaesthetic, so you'll sleep through the entire operation.
What does the operation involve?
The incisions are then made in the inner part of the arm and are each 10 – 15 cm long. As they are kept behind the arm there will be no visible scars. The tissues hanging on your arm are then lifted and repositioned higher. The skin is then supported in the new position and the wounds are stitched with dissolving sutures.
A more limited degree of arm lifting can be also achieved through minimal incisions made for liposuction and if this is appropriate it will be carefully explained at your consultation.
How long will the surgery take?
Arm lift usually takes about two hour depending on the extent of the surgery.
Is it painful?
For the first few days it is common to experience some discomfort in the arm region after arm lifting as the nerves in this area are stretched.
What can I expect after the Surgery?
It is hoped that you will have only mild swelling and bruising following your arm lift, however this does vary depending on each case.
Most patients can return to work after about 7 to 10 days although it will probably take at least 4 weeks before you would be ready for a major social event.
